Cylinder Liners Types
Cylinder liner is divided into dry cylinder liner and wet cylinder liner two categories. The cylinder liner that does not contact the cooling water on the back is called the dry cylinder liner, and the cylinder liner that contacts the cooling water on the back is the wet cylinder liner. The dry cylinder liner has thin thickness, simple structure and convenient processing.

1, Better Resistance: the cylinder liners are made with cast iron alloys containing elements with natural lubricating properties, like graphite. Other components are added like chrome, vanadium, and molybdenum to help ensure resistance to corrosion and wear caused by high temperatures.
2, Long Service Life: with best technology and materials, the cylinder liners will be in good conditions longer.
3, Higher Thermal Conductivity: At operating temperatures the liners heat up more than the cylinders and must be able to expand in both diameter and length. If they were cast together with the cylinders, the resulting thermal loading would be high enough to fracture the materials.
